7 Ways to Stay on Track & Create More Freedom While Living and Working Anywhere

As the year flies by we all need to STOP and check in on the direction we are going. It can feel like your on hyperdrive with so much changing around the world and in your own world. So, I thought putting out my FREEDOM formula might help for a reset if you are feeling overwhelmed or going off track (but hey, going off track can be like a motor cross adventure but you come out learning something, so i’s all good!)

What You’ll Learn in This Short Read…

In this guide, you’ll learn how to apply the FREEDOM Formula—a powerful, 7-part monthly self-check designed specifically for digital nomads, remote workers, and online entrepreneurs. You’ll discover how to stay focused, protect your energy, reassess your direction, and build real momentum—no matter where in the world you are. Whether you’re managing a team from a beachside bungalow or freelancing from a mountain cabin, this formula will help you align your lifestyle with your deepest values and vision for freedom.

If your vision for the year needs redefining or a perhaps an entire new direction—and with change there is a wide-open road of opportunity so let discover more.

Maybe, your year is filled with amazing opportunity, because you worked hard creating them, or perhaps you have had huge change and trying to get back to what’s important to you.

Remember; where there is disruption there is always opportunity! But, let’s be honest: it’s easy to veer off course when you’re juggling work across time zones, navigating new cities, or building a business on the go.

Whether you’re freelancing from Africa (or want to be), building your brand from Bali, or running meetings from a Chateau in the South of France (where I am at the moment in the Pyrenees) staying aligned with your goals requires more than Wi-Fi and wanderlust. You need structure that supports freedom.

That’s where the FREEDOM Formula comes in.

No…this isn’t another productivity hack. It’s a monthly self-check designed to help you stay grounded, intentional, and moving toward your version of freedom—whatever that looks like for you.

But first—ask yourself:

🧭 What does more freedom mean to you in 2025?
💡 What does it feel like to live with true freedom?

For many remote professionals, it means:

  • Setting your own hours (and sticking to them).
  • Scaling a business without burning out.
  • Working from anywhere—without losing sight of your bigger mission.
  • Having time for creativity, wellness, or just doing nothing in a beautiful place.

No matter your vision, let this formula serve as your compass.

🔓 The FREEDOM Formula: A Digital Nomad’s Monthly Self-Check

Each letter represents one pillar of freedom. Use it monthly or quarterly to reflect, recalibrate, and reignite your goals.

✹ F – Focus

Question: What is your core focus this month?

As a remote worker or entrepreneur, it’s easy to chase every shiny opportunity. But clarity is currency. Define your quarterly goal and break it into simple, measurable steps.

đŸ”č Choose one major priority.
đŸ”č Ask: What must happen this month to move the needle?

“The successful warrior is the average person with laser-like focus.” —Bruce Lee

🔄 R – Reassess & Redirect

Question: What’s working? What’s not?

Nomadic life moves fast—if something isn’t working, pivot. Whether it’s your workflow, your team, or your location, give yourself permission to change direction.

đŸ”č Review last month honestly.
đŸ”č Reconnect with your why.

Think like a traveler: flexibility is your power move. Adapt and evolve.

“If it’s not working, reassess your actions and redirect your energy.” —Linda McCall

⚡ E – Energy

Question: How is your energy? What fuels you?

Your freedom depends on how well you care for yourself—mentally, physically, emotionally. Without energy, everything else falls apart.

Focus on your core energy drivers:

  1. Breath – Breathe deeply, mindfully.
  2. Water – Hydrate like it’s your job.
  3. Rest – Prioritize real rest (not just sleep).
  4. Food – Nourish with intention.

đŸŒ± Bonus: Include movement—yoga, hikes, walks. Your body is your business.

“The energy of the mind is the essence of life.” —Aristotle

🌍 E – Exploration

Question: What are you exploring right now?

Explore not just places—but ideas, skills, tools, and new ways of working. That’s the gift of location-independence: curiosity becomes your growth engine.

Try this:

  • Switch up your workspace.
  • Learn something new: AI tools, storytelling, sales funnels.
  • Talk to someone outside your industry.

“We shall not cease from exploration…” —T.S. Eliot

🔍 D – Discovery

Question: What have you discovered about yourself?

Every experience holds insight—especially the tough ones. What did this month teach you? What did that failed pitch, tough client, or spontaneous adventure reveal?

Keep a “Discovery Journal” to track your learnings.

“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.” —Marcel Proust

👁 O – Observation

Question: What are you noticing about yourself and your values?

Observe your reactions, your habits, your triggers. What lights you up? What drains you? What values are driving your decisions—freedom, impact, connection, adventure?

Try this exercise:

  1. List 10 things that matter most right now (in life and business).
  2. Narrow it to your top 3.
  3. Use these as filters for future decisions.

“To observe without judgment is the highest form of intelligence.” —Jiddu Krishnamurti

🚀 M – Momentum

Question: What’s slowing you down—and how can you get back in motion?

Sometimes, freedom is found in forward motion for others freedom is in the here and now in the gap that is the silence that holds infinite possibility. Even tiny steps create massive shifts when done consistently.

✩ Choose one action that builds momentum this week.
✩ Identify your biggest distraction—and pause it.
✩ Keep moving. Progress > perfection.

“Commitment is the ignitor of momentum.” —Peg Wood

🌐 Ready to Live and Work With More Freedom?

Freedom doesn’t mean the same for everyone. True freedom is intentional. It’s knowing what you want, honoring your energy, and building a life aligned with your values—whether you’re building a SaaS startup in Thailand or coaching clients from a beachside cafĂ© doing business in bare feet.

The FREEDOM Formula isn’t a rulebook—it’s your monthly reset ritual. Use it. Reflect. Realign.

Freedom is a mindset—and a muscle.

Train it.
