Fear Based Consciousness

Fear… Are We Consciously Unconscious?

Let’s talk about the “F” word.
Yep. That one.
FEAR.
The thing that sneaks into headlines, slinks into your thoughts, and subtly shapes your day—before you’ve even finished your morning cuppa.

Are you feeding it? Are you clicking on it?
Let’s be honest—just seeing the word “fear” probably made you want to read this, right? You felt it.
It pulled you in.

“What you focus on expands.” — T. Harv Eker

So… what are you focusing on?

Fear is the Clickbait King 👑

Fear is everywhere.
From “Fear Ebola” to “Workers too afraid to speak up”, it’s splashed across headlines like it’s the latest fashion trend.
Spoiler alert: Fear sells. And we’re buying.
Hook, line, and cortisol spike.

But here’s the question I really want you to ponder:

Are you unconsciously swimming in a sea of fear-based thinking?
Are you letting it guide your choices, your responses, even your internal dialogue?

If we keep feeding fear… all we get is more fear.
It’s like trying to put out a fire by throwing petrol on it. 🔥

Flip the Script

Now I’m not saying ignore the world. (That’s called denial and we’re not into spiritual bypassing here.)

What I am saying is:

“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose.” — Viktor E. Frankl

We can choose what we let in.
Just like you’d be careful about who you invite to your dinner party (no energy vampires, thanks very much!), you can be selective with what you allow into your mental house.

Be the bouncer of your brain!
Not everything deserves entry to your precious headspace.

Mindfulness is Your Superpower 🧘‍♀️

This is your invitation to step into Svadhyaya – the yoga of self-study.
I realised this deeply during my Yoga Teacher Training with the radiant Tammy Williams of NRG Power Yoga.

She said something that stuck with me:

“Teacher, student — there is no difference.”

Truth bomb. 💣
We are all both.
We’re teaching and learning all the time — from each other, from life, from ourselves.

The magic lies in observing without judgement.

So, here’s your permission slip to press pause and ask yourself:

  • How am I responding right now?
  • Is this fear real or just familiar?
  • Am I reacting… or choosing?

Your Inner World Creates Your Outer Reality

Did you know your body’s listening in on every single thought you think?
Like an overly enthusiastic secretary, it’s taking notes and sending memos to every cell in your body.

If you’re tuned into chaos, negativity, and doomscrolling… guess what? Your body gets the memo:
“⚠️ PANIC MODE ACTIVATED.”

And when you do that often enough?
You become the anxiety. Your nervous system thinks the apocalypse is coming every time your phone dings.

“Energy flows where attention goes.” — Tony Robbins

You wouldn’t let a virus infect your laptop without a firewall, so why let one into your mind?

The Yoga of Life

Here’s the twist — life is the yoga mat.

Don’t worry if you’re not into Downward Dogs.
The mat is a metaphor, my friend.

It’s the place we meet ourselves.
The space where we notice our breath, our reactions, our thoughts.
And most importantly — it’s where we choose to show up differently.

The Yamas (how we treat others) and Niyamas (how we treat ourselves) are like your internal compass.
Use them.
Let love, compassion, curiosity, and courage be your guides.

“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.” — Marcel Proust

Your Call to Power (Not Panic) 🚀

So, next time fear comes knocking, do a little check-in:

  • Is this mine, or just something I picked up?
  • Am I feeding it or feeling it?
  • Can I choose love instead?

Because here’s the truth bomb I’ll leave you with:

“No one ever won a war with fear — not even the quiet, internal ones. We win with courage, with presence, and with conscious choices.” — Linda McCall

So go out there.
Be bold.
Shine bright.
And keep doing what blows your hair back!

With love, light, and a cheeky wink,
Lovingly, Linda McCall
